On July 15, British American Tobacco entered into an agreement with the European Commission and the Member States of the European Union to collectively approach illicit trade in tobacco. The agreement will see cooperation in a number of areas including funding by BAT of $200m (€134m) over the next 20 years.

A man accused of exporting hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of counterfeit computer hardware to buyers in the United States was sentenced to 30 months in federal prison and ordered to pay $790,683.85 in restitution to Cisco after pleading guilty to trafficking in counterfeit products.
