Job description

Communications and Media Relations Officer
**Please note that candidates need full working papers to apply**

The Communications and Media Relations Officer is responsible to the Director of Communications for writing,
editing and producing communications materials. The Communications and Media Relations Officer will seek
to raise the profile of ICC in the media and help ensure regular media coverage of ICC work. He or she will work
as part of a small communications team and will also help with other aspects of the Communications Department’s
work.

Primary tasks include:

  • Compose texts for press releases, brochures, the ICC website and other promotional materials.
  • Write speeches and talking points for the ICC Chairman, Secretary General and other select ICC leaders.
  • Edit and proofread texts prepared by others.
  • Identify opportunities to profile ICC work and liaise with ICC staff to develop key messages and communications
    strategies.
  • Write and/or commission op-eds on top business issues for leading international newspapers and magazines.

Required skills and experience:

  • Excellent writing and copy editing skills in English.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in the field of media/communications/public relations. Prior
    experience in a corporate communications/public relations office is preferred.
  • A moderate level of written and spoken French.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to establish effective working relations in a multicultural team environment.
  • Proven ability to take initiative on projects, but also able to take direction and follow instructions, when required.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to juggle several projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of international business issues related to trade, the environment, information and communications
    technologies and intellectual property is a plus.
