ICC recommends further steps in trade facilitation in Doha Round

As global trade negotiations enter a crucial new phase, ICC has published a list of recommendations for World Trade Organization members in upcoming talks and has expressed its broad support for the significant progress made on trade facilitation.

ICC gives final push at critical juncture in Doha trade talks
Geneva, 30 June 2006  As ministers gather in Geneva this week during what many claim is a make-or-break stage in the World Trade Organization's Doha trade round, ICC has rallied its resources in Geneva and across the globe to help ensure much needed progress will be made.

ICC to push harder for progress on Doha Round
Paris, 16 June 2006  ICC's World Council, which is made up of over 100 business people from around the world, today agreed to intensify the pressure on national governments in the hope of bringing the World Trade Organization's Doha trade negotiations to a successful conclusion by the end of this year.

ICC meets EU trade chief as Doha deadline slips
Paris, 26 April 2006  ICC Chairman Marcus Wallenberg met in Brussels with the European Union's Trade Commissioner, Peter Mandelson, shortly after confirmation that the Doha Round trade negotiations would miss an important end-April deadline to agree on procedures for liberalizing agricultural and industrial trade.

Business disappointed by lack of progress on Doha round in Geneva
Paris, 29 July 2005   The International Chamber of Commerce, the world business organization, is concerned and deeply disappointed with the lack of progress in talks held at the World Trade Organization in Geneva this week on the Doha round of multilateral trade negotiations.

World business community delivers appeal to G8 leaders
Paris, 5 July 2005  In a statement issued to all G8 leaders, businesses from around the world asked them to use their upcoming meeting in Scotland on 6-8 July to address four key issues: drawing developing countries into the global economy, particularly Africa; bringing the Doha trade negotiations to a successful close; addressing climate change more effectively; and protecting intellectual property and innovation.

ICC calls for investment in ports as bottlenecks build up
Paris, 24 May 2005  ICC is concerned about the inadequacy of infrastructure serving many ports worldwide, threatening the smooth flow of global trade. It calls on the freight industry and public authorities to act now to expand freight transport infrastructure, reducing congestion on roads and railways to ports and eliminating bottlenecks. In many ports, freight containers are piling high as a result of bottlenecks.

ICC calls for progress on Doha round in lead-up to Hong Kong
Paris, 14 April 2005  In a policy statement prepared by business experts on trade and investment policy, the International Chamber of Commerce recommends ways to make progress in the World Trade Organization's Doha round of trade negotiations in the lead-up to a key meeting of government ministers in Hong Kong in December.
