The world’s leaders are at an important crossroads as they tackle the question of how to press forward following the worst recession in decades, according to experts at the ICC World Business Summit, organized by ICC and Hong Kong Trade Development Council in Hong Kong today.

Incoterms® 2010: New edition of renowned trade rules now available to order
Paris, 29 June 2010   Continuing a long tradition of providing the global trading community with the most up-to-date trade tools, ICC is preparing to launch the Incoterms® 2010 rules. Today, ICC has announced it is now accepting preorders for the revised Incoterms rules, which will come into effect on 1 January 2011.

Alarming levels of trade protectionism among G-20 countries threaten global economic recovery, trade and employment
Hong Kong, 29 June 2010   Despite repeated commitments by G-20 countries to avoid adopting such measures, protectionist policies are being implemented at an alarming rate, according to a new research report, “G-20 Protection in the Wake of the Great Recession”.

Paris, 19 May 2010  Public deficits, a decrease in tax revenues and schemes to reduce government deficits and debt accumulation, could be detrimental to the strength and durability of the economic recovery, according to the quarterly ICC/Ifo World Economic Survey released today.

US official: Overseas investment brings benefits to our economy
New York, 1 April 2010  As it emerges from a deep recession, the US must reject protectionism and economic nationalism, and champion foreign investment as a key driver of prosperity, a top US State Department official told a conference organized by ICC’s representative in the US.

Climate indicator rises but concerns remain on strength of recovery
Paris, 17 February 2010   The World Economic Climate Indicator rose in the first quarter of the year for the fourth consecutive time due primarily to positive assessments of the current economic situation in Asia, but the expectation of a continued rise in unemployment, and other factors, raised concerns about the strength of the recovery.

ICC chairman expresses concerns on economic growth; protectionism
Singapore, 13 November 2009  ICC Chairman Victor K. Fung today expressed concern over the sustainability of the current economic recovery and warned against an increase in protectionist moves that he said will only prolong the current downturn.
